Before foundations are designed, it is often necessary to understand the ground conditions. We carry out trial pits and test holes to expose existing foundations, drainage runs, and soil conditions. This information helps structural engineers and building control determine appropriate foundation depths and construction methods.

Existing drainage layouts are not always clear, especially in older properties. We can expose and trace drainage runs, identify inspection chambers, and help plan new drainage layouts for extensions or new buildings. This early work ensures that drainage is properly integrated into the construction process. 

We carry out demolition and strip-out works to prepare buildings for renovation or extension. This may include removing walls, outbuildings, concrete slabs, or internal fittings, ensuring the structure is ready for the next stage of construction. Usable materials are carefully reclaimed, and as much as possible is recycled.

Before construction can begin, the site often needs to be cleared and prepared. We undertake site clearance including removal of vegetation, trees, small structures, old paving, and debris. Preparing the site properly allows building work to start safely and efficiently. As needed we work closely with ecologists to protect fragile habitats and animals.

We install underground services including water supply pipes, electrical ducts, drainage connections, and service trenches. Ensuring these services are installed correctly at the early stages of a project helps avoid disruption later in the build. All carefully installed to utility company specifications, and documented  for easy sign off.

We can install temporary hardstanding areas or access tracks using suitable materials to allow safe access to the site while protecting surrounding ground, trees and gardens. We also install everything necessary to allow your building team to work efficiently with regards to material storage, staff welfare and public safety.
